SEMINAR #7 "School Security & The Tormented Child" -
The main focus here is the early identification of children, who, because of
unrelenting and persistent "bullying", might pose a serious breach of security
to a school. Once these children have been identified, preventive measures
can immediately be put into place. As with Megan's Law, all school personnel
should be in-serviced. This includes teachers, support staff, parents, parent
volunteers in the school building, bus drivers, food service workers and the
administration. Additionally, all aspects of security are discussed including
complete egress analysis, deployment and management of security personnel,
maintenance of two-way radio systems, video surveillance, metal detection
including legal ramifications, calibration, best usage of, and, methods for
actively involving the community (parents, police liaison, fire and clergy).
All attendees receive a brief information packet containing everything needed
to collectively prepare a proactive and comprehensive security program.
Members of the central administration are invited to attend this seminar as
well as the entire educational community.
