SEMINAR #5 - "Excellence in Instruction/Learning: Engagement!" - After defining real "engagement", techniques which facilitate and maintain focused attention are identified which lead to greater student outcomes. The classroom setting is seen as an opportunity for every learner in attendance to be "on task" at all times. Moreover, as a contributing member of a cooperative group, the learner is subject to group momentum and proactive peer pressure to enhance motivation and aid in the completion of all projects. This seminar gives teachers specific strategies with which they can engage their students. For districts, this can lead to higher scores due to increased "time on task". Primarily designed for the teaching staff, the seminar is also useful for curriculum developers, administrators and supervisors of particular curricular areas.
