SEMINAR #4 - "Character Education" -
"Principles", so prevalent in peoples' lives 200 years ago, have all but
vanished. This seminar focuses on integrating the redevelopment of character
as a means of understanding and curbing bullying. Through a combination
of learning "virtues" and providing opportunities to utilize these virtues,
students give birth to mental paradigms that perhaps, they never knew
existed. Attendees are taken on a fascinating trip through virtues, as they
once existed, and where, if anywhere, they are found today. Through a series
of group exercises, they isolate 6 of the most important virtues (out of the
64 presented) and form an action plan to infuse these virtues into all aspects
of curriculum. The entire community of child advocates, educators and parents
are invited to attend this seminar.
